Jembrana Bali Flood Submerges Hundreds Of Houses, A Woman Disappears In The Current

One resident of Pengambengan Village, Jembrana Regency, Bali, named Nita Ulama (23) was missing when a large flood occurred in the area on Wednesday, September 10 morning.

"The victim was a woman. She was carried by her husband on a motorbike, crossing a flooded road. The bicycle fell into the water, as well as the victim. We are still searching," said Pengambengan Village Head Kamaruzzaman, quoted by ANTARA.

He said at around 02.30 WITA Bilal Ramdhan (27) was riding his wife Nita Ulama (23) who was about to return to Kumbading Hamlet from Munduk Hamlet, Pengambengan Village, Jembrana.

While crossing the road in Munduk Hamlet which was flooded with heavy currents, he said, the motorcycle fell causing Nita Ulama to be dragged into the water, while her husband survived.

"We found his motorbike not far from the scene. The search continues with the help of the community," he said.

Due to the rain that lasted more than 24 hours, Pengambengan Village, Negara District, was hit by a large flood that submerged hundreds of residents' houses.

Kamaruzzaman appealed to residents to be careful, especially taking care of children because of the heavy flood currents.

Floods in Jembrana Regency also submerged many other areas, including the Denpasar-Gilimanuk highway, which caused congestion at a number of points.

Head of the Jembrana Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) Iptu Aldri Setiawan said that one of the points of severe flooding occurred in the outskirts of the State City or in the Udayana Street area.

"Flooding is quite high, causing the flow of Denpasar-Gilimanuk vehicles to stall. We urge road users to be patient and hopefully this flood will recede quickly," he said.

Until this news was made, although not heavy, it was still raining in the Jembrana area.
