JAKARTA - The police are still investigating the possibility of masterminds and funders behind the attack and destruction of police stations in the East Jakarta area.

"We are still investigating everything, of course we will review it later, analyze it and later we will provide more precise information regarding the coordinator of the action or (assisting) funds," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Alfian Nurrizal when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 9.

The search related to the coordinator of the action and the funder was carried out considering that the attack took place in a structured manner and involved a Molotov cocktail made by the suspect.

"Earlier, we have been asked about the suspect's relationship with one another. We have not been able to convey that there is provocation and funding. Of course we need to explore everything first," explained Alfian.

In addition to damage to facilities, the police reported injuries. Two members in Jatinegara suffered serious injuries, one of which was a broken bone after falling while trying to escape.

"Two police personnel at the Jatinegara Police Station who suffered injuries to their right cheek when he fled, fell from the second floor, and one person had a broken leg," said Alfian.

Regarding the value of the loss, Alfian said that his party had reported all inventory damage to the Polda Metro Jaya.

"We can't say yet, but we have reported to the Regional Police the damage from our inventory, but we can't judge how much because it's from colleagues who can calculate. Starting from damage, burning, loss we have reported everything," he said.

The police ensure that they will continue to investigate this case, including the possibility of structured provocations and a wider network behind the destruction of a number of police stations in East Jakarta.
