Jakut City Government Forms Alert Village For TB Case Handling

JAKARTA - Many North Jakarta residents are young, exposed to Tuberculosis (TBC). The data revealed by the local City Government is based on the results of screening checks from 2024-2025.

"We have received TB cases of around 5,942 until now. We have a target of having to find 58,000 cases in North Jakarta from the results of screening," said Assistant for Administration and People's Welfare of the North Jakarta City Government, M. Andri when confirmed, Tuesday 9 September 2025.

Currently, the North Jakarta City Government has screened 36 thousand North Jakarta residents from the target of 58 thousand.

"From those screened, there are those who have been tested by TCM or its phlegm so that there is a positive or not TB. We have received cases of around 5,942 to date, 5,185 people have started treatment," he said.

In addition, there are also those who fail treatment because they experience drug resistance. The reason, continued Andri, is that TB treatment must be consistent.

The North Jakarta City Government has also formed a TB standby village in 31 urban villages in North Jakarta. Currently, there are 54 TB standby villages.

"So per kelurahan some have two or five villages, depending on the situation in the kelurahan. The villages that are prone to the spread of TB are indeed to create many TB alert villages," he said.

Meanwhile, the work process of the TBC standby village in 31 North Jakarta sub-districts plays a role in conducting screening checks on residents. If it is found that there are residents who are found to be positive for TB, treatment will immediately be carried out.

"After being treated, there is also assistance because so that the treatment is complete, until it is cured," he said.
