YOGYAKARTA In this article, the profile of Mukthtarudin, Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI)/Head of the new BP2MI, replaces Abdul Kadir Karding.

As we know, Mukhtarudin was inaugurated as Minister of P2MI at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, September 8, 2025. Mukhtarudin became one of the new ministers after President Prabowo Subianto reshuffled 5 Ministries.

Profile Mukhtarudin is a politician from the Golkar Party. Before being inaugurated as Head of BP2MI, Mukhtarudin served as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission XII in charge of matters related to the energy sector, mineral resources, the environment and investment.

The man who was born in Pangkalan Bun, September 6, 1964, is known to have been a legislator for the Republic of Indonesia three times, namely the period 2004-2009, 2019-2024, and 2024-2029.

In the 2024 Legislative Election, Mukhtarudin qualified for Senayan from the electoral district (dapil) of Central Kalimantan.

Mukhtarudin started his political career from below. He joined an organization affiliated with the Golkar Party.

In 1988-1999, Mukhtarudin served as Deputy Chair of the Central Kalimantan AMPI DPD. In 1993-2002, he was also trusted as Deputy Chair of the KNPI DPD-binaan Golkar-Kotawaringin Barat cadre.
