JAKARTA - The ranks of the Indonesian Navy confiscated 85,000 clear lobster seeds without documents suspected of being smuggled in Banyuwangi, East Java, Sunday (7/9).

The Commander of the Fleet Command (Pangkoarmada) of the Republic of Indonesia, Vice Admiral TNI Denih Hendrata, said the arrests were made by Banyuwangi Lanal personnel.

"The arrests were made in front of the Banyuwangi Mako Lanal at around 19.00 WIB," said Denih as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 8.

The arrests began with information obtained by lanal personnel regarding the activities of circulating illegal lobster seeds in the Banyuwangi area.

Based on the report, the officers then traced several places that were previously suspected of being related to the spread of lobster seeds.

After conducting a search, said Denih, officers received information that two people with the initials FQ and J were carrying a white Daihatsu Grandmax.

The officers immediately traced the findings and finally arrested the perpetrator's car.

"In the car we found 17 boxes each containing 20 plastics. One plastic contains 250 clear lobster seeds. In total there are 85,000 clear lobster seeds with an estimated value of Rp. 731 million," he said.

Officers, said Denih, immediately brought seeds along with the perpetrators and other evidence in the form of cars to the Lanal Banyuwangi Headquarters for further questioning.

Denih ensured that his party would find out where the lobster clear seeds came from and where the seeds would be brought by the perpetrators.

With this activity, Denih ensured that his party was firm in eradicating the smuggling of maritime wealth that could harm the nation.

He also ensured that the Indonesian Navy would continue to strengthen prevention and monitoring on land or in the oceans.
