JAKARTA - The perpetrators of the attack and arson at the Jatinegara Police have been arrested by a joint team from the Polsek and Polres Metro East Jakarta. East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Alfian Nurrizal said the perpetrators carried out an attack on throwing stones, burning them using Molotov cocktails and burning the gate in front of the police station.

"We have arrested four suspects, namely the initials AR, ST, SE and R. Each has a different role," Kombes Alfian told reporters, Monday, September 8.

The police chief explained that the perpetrator with the initials AR helped make Molotov cocktails in front of the gas station and bought 3 bottles of You C-1000 to be used as containers for making Molotov cocktails.

"Help fill the gasoline into the bottle and put the cloth in it," he said.

Meanwhile, from the results of the examination, one suspect with the initials ST played a role in recording videos and provoking the masses to burn the Jatinegara Police. ST also provoked the masses by shouting the killer police.

"It was recorded on social media to make the situation and conditions worse at the time of the incident. They provoked 'woi attack'," he said.

The perpetrators were the masses who were previously in riots in the Kwitang area, Senen District, Central Jakarta.

"Initially this Molotov cocktail was to be thrown into the Kwitang area, but there was incitement (finally targeting) to the Jatinegara Police," he said.

As a result of the attack on the Jatinegara Police, two motorbikes and bicycles were burned by fire. As a result of their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code related to the attack on the Jatinegara Police.
