Finding A Rotting Body On South Lampung Beach, Police: No Signs Of Violence

The South Lampung Police are investigating the discovery of a man's body at Tanjung Selaki Beach, Tarahan Village, Katibung District, to determine the identity of the victim and the cause of death.

South Lamsel Police Chief AKBP Tomi Kasmiri said the discovery of the body of an unidentified man on Tanjung Selaki Beach occurred on Sunday 7 September at 17.00 WIB in a decomposed condition.

"The victim was evacuated using an ambulance to Bob Bazar Kalida Hospital for further investigation. From the results of the examination by the Katibung Police Inafis team together with the South Lampung Police Satpolair, it was found that the corpse was male, estimated to be around 50 years old," he said in Kaluda Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that when he repeated the body he was wearing a black purple shirt and gray training pants.

"The part of the head is left with the skull, some of the hands are left with bones, but there are no signs of violence found. The victim was wearing a black purple long shirt, white gray training pants, and black underwear," he said.

He emphasized that until now the identity of the victim is not known. Therefore, the public is asked to help by providing information if a family member is missing or recognizing the characteristics of the victim's clothes.

"We urge residents who feel they have lost their family members or know information related to the characteristics of the victim to immediately contact the Katibung Police or South Lampung Police. Community cooperation is very important to accelerate the identification process," he said.

According to him, currently the body is still in the forensic room of Bob Bazar Kalianda Hospital for further investigation. The police are also still investigating to determine the cause of death of the victim.
