Padang Pariaman Police Hunt For ALS Bus Driver Who Escaped After The Padang-Sicincin Toll Accident

PARIAMAN - The Resort Police (Polres) of Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra is looking for the whereabouts of the ALS tourism bus driver who had an accident at the exit gate of the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road, 2x11 Kayu Tanam District on Sunday (September 7 at around 23.30 WIB because he was suspected of running away.

"We have contacted the ALS Tourism bus company, but it has not been connected (until 10:20 p.m.)," said Padang Pariaman Police Traffic Head Iptu Rudi Chandra through the Head of Laka Unit of the Padang Pariaman Police Traffic Unit, Ipda Rudi Purnama, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 8.

He said the search for the driver was carried out because the police wanted to determine the cause of the bus carrying a group of karate athletes from North Sumatra had an accident when they left the toll gate to the Padang-Bukittinggi national road.

Moreover, he continued, the survivors of the incident could not be questioned because they were still traumatized by the accident.

However, he said, based on an investigation in the field, it was suspected that the bus driver was negligent, resulting in two deaths and 29 other passengers being injured.

The Padang Pariaman Police Traffic Unit has conducted a crime scene at the accident site and collected a number of information related to the accident.

A group of North Sumatra karate athletes were about to take part in a match in Padang City, but when they left the Padang-Sicincin toll gate, the bus with the police number BK 7444 UA lost control, then hit the road divider and overturned.
