Minister Arifah Invites All Parties To Commit To Realize A Child-Friendly City

JAKARTA - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi invites local governments and all parties to unite their commitments in the title of Child Friendly City (KLA). To achieve this, it is necessary to ensure that there is a provision of safe, inclusive, and meaningful spaces for children.

"This Balikpapan Children's Festival is not just a celebration, but a momentum to strengthen the spirit, creativity, and future of our children. Children are the main subjects whose rights must be fulfilled. Our children are agents of change that can contribute to the environment and the city," said Arifah Fauzi in a statement in Jakarta, citing ANTARA on Sunday 7 September.

Minister Arifatul Choiri Fauzi said that the concept of a Child-Friendly City is based on the Convention on Children's Rights which emphasizes the right of every child to grow and develop optimally, be protected from violence, and be able to participate meaningfully in development.

A child-friendly city includes the fulfillment of children's basic rights through education, health, playrooms, safe public facilities, and supportive environments.

Meanwhile, Expert Staff for Social, Welfare and Human Resources Development, Adamin Siregar, said that children are a valuable asset of the nation that must be protected, protected, and given space to develop.

"The Balikpapan Children's Festival is a forum for children to express themselves, be creative, channel their talents, while at the same time fostering self-confidence. Balikpapan children are a great generation who are ready to continue the relay for the nation's development towards Indonesia Emas 2045," said Adamin Siregar.

Adamin Siregar ensured that the Balikpapan City Government's commitment to continue to present child-friendly policies.

These efforts are realized through improving educational and health facilities, providing child-friendly green open spaces, strengthening child protection programs from violence, bullying, and discrimination, as well as strengthening child participation.
