Autopsy Process Completed, Repatriation Of Indonesian Diplomat's Body Expected This Week

JAKARTA - The body of Indonesian diplomat Zetro Leonardo Purba, who was shot dead in Peru, is expected to be repatriated to the country this week after undergoing an autopsy.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death of Kanselerai KBRI Lima Zetro Leonardo Purba. The deceased was the victim of an unknown party shooting while riding a bicycle in the Av area. CESar Vallejo, Agile, Lima on Monday 1 September. The deceased was rushed to Cl jurisprudence Javier Prado, but his life could not be saved.

"The autopsy of the deceased by the Peruvian Police forensic team was completed on the same day, September 2," explained Spokesperson II of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela in a short message to VOI.id, Thursday, September 4.

Previously, Nabyl in a video caption on Thursday said the autopsy process for the late Zetro's body had been carried out on September 2.

"The repatriation process is expected this week, we have not received the details," he said.

Nabyl said earlier that the Indonesian Embassy in Lima had coordinated with Peruvian officials, especially the police, to oversee the investigation process to get a motive for the incident.

Nabyl revealed that the Peru Police were making various efforts, collecting evidence, securing surveillance camera footage from the scene to coordinating with the local prosecutor's office.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Lima has submitted a diplomatic note to the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to request that the process of handling this case get great attention," he said.

Nabyl added that the Indonesian Embassy in Lima paid high attention to the families of the victims, moved them to a safer place, received supervision and security by the Peruvian police.

"Until when it has not been determined," explained Nabyl when asked about the security of the victim's family.
