PKB Urges Police Evaluation And Investigation Of Victims Of Demonstration

The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the National Awakening Party (PKB) has encouraged the evaluation of the National Police and investigations to thoroughly investigate the number of victims in demonstrations in several parts of Indonesia.

Deputy Chairperson Of The PKB DPP, Riezal Ilham Pratama, emphasized that his party rejects any form of violence during the handling of demonstrations.

"We, the PKB DPP, strongly reject all forms of violence that occurred during the demonstration process. We urge all parties to exercise restraint, especially the security forces. We want an evaluation of what the security forces are doing, the handling of actions that need to be more humane because there have been too many victims," Riezal told reporters quoted on Thursday, September 4.

In addition, in order to facilitate the demands of the community, PKB will hold an open dialogue with civil society on September 5 in the DPR RI. Thus, everything that is the aspiration of the community can be absorbed.

"We heard various demands on social media. This is a positive injection for PKB. Therefore, we encourage direct dialogue between the PKB faction and civil society," he said.

Regarding the demand for freezing the increase in DPR allowances that triggered the action, Riezal emphasized that PKB supports evaluation.

"We support the steps taken by the leadership of the DPR RI to evaluate allowances. Because the problems regarding this allowance caused jealousy which eventually exploded with yesterday's action," he said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairperson of the PKB DPP, Gielbran Muhammad Noor also stated the importance of fair law enforcement for victims. All individuals who commit violence must also receive punishment according to the rules.

"We encourage them to get their rights and obligations, as well as those who become perpetrators to get rewards. We make sure everyone receives justice," said Gielbran.
