DENPASAR - Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Fadli Zon leads the 2025 Ministerial Summit which is entering its second day. This international forum at the Bali Beach Convention Center formulates the direction of world culture through the Bali Cultural Initiative Declaration 2025 with a focus on four main issues: climate threats, digital transformation, creative economy, and cultural protection in the midst of conflict.

Menbud Fadli emphasized that culture must be placed on the forefront of global development. "Education is a means of social cohesion, an adaptive mechanism for facing a climate crisis, compass in utilizing technology, as well as bridge inclusiveness," he explained Wednesday, September 3.

Discussions underscore the surprising facts: one in six world cultural heritages is now in danger of climate. The pandemic also shows the fragility of the cultural ecosystem, with global museum visits dropping by 70 percent. Meanwhile, the creative industry worth US$4.3 trillion has proven to be a job bike for 30 million people, especially the younger generation and MSMEs.

Delegations from 39 countries highlight the role of culture as an instrument of peace. The Palestinian Minister of Culture stressed that war has destroyed national identity, but Palestine continues to launch a cultural conservation program. The delegation of Zimbabwe, Tunisia, to Syria emphasizes culture as a compass of peace and human capital.

The Forum also discusses the ethics of artificial intelligence, digital inequality, and the need for transparent regulation. "We must reiterated culture as a sustainable future foundation, strengthen cross-border cooperation, and ensure digital transformation runs ethically," said Menbud Fadli.

Closing the trial, Menbud Fadli Zon summarized five commitments: cultural integration in sustainable development, cultural diplomacy for peace, responsible digital transformation, empowerment of the younger generation and creative industry, as well as strengthening the preservation of cultural heritage including repatriation and eradication of illegal trade.
