CHANDI 2025 Opened In Bali, Minister Of Culture Emphasizes Culture As A Compass For The Future

The international cultural Conference of CHANDI 2025 officially started with a dinner at The Meru Hotel, Sanur, Bali, Tuesday, September 2. This event presents delegates from 39 countries and Indonesian regional leaders to strengthen the diplomacy of cross-border culture.

In his remarks, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon emphasized that culture is not just a legacy of the past, but a compass and catalyst in shaping the future.

"Our presence emphasizes our commitment to making culture a unifying force in the midst of rapidly changing the world, full of challenges, and geopolitical conflicts," said Menbud Fadli.

He emphasized that culture must be a tool of peace as well as a motor of sustainable economic growth. Culture is not only an identity, but also solidarity, creativity, and resilience. Through CHANDI 2025, Indonesia invites the world to reorganize cultural diplomacy, take advantage of innovation, and strengthen the creative economy," he stressed.

Carrying the theme Culture for the Future, this conference held a meeting between the Ministers of Culture, panel discussions, seminars with UNESCO, workshops, and field visits. At its peak, this forum will produce the 2025 Bali Cultural Declaration as a global commitment to preserving legacy, encouraging creativity, and building peace through culture.

Welcome Dinner opened with the Panyembrahma Dance, then Oleg Tambulilingan and the Fire Dance Kecak which attracted guests. Present were Zimbabwean Culture Minister Kazembe Kazembe, Syrian Culture Minister Mohammad Yassin Saleh, as well as officials from Singapore, Jordan, Fiji, Iran, and Venezuela.

Closing his remarks, Menbud Fadli hoped that CHANDI 2025 would produce real ideas. "Let's strengthen friendship, celebrate diversity, and inherit the spirit of cultural cooperation to future generations," he said.
