The Mystery Of The Strong Smell That Reveals The Death Of 5 Family Bodies In Indramayu, The Police Intervene

INDRAMAYU - Indramayu Resort Police (Polres) investigated the case of the discovery of five bodies of a family buried in a grave around their house infeasibilityman Village, Indramayu, West Java, Monday, September 1.

Head of the Public Relations Section of the Indramayu Police, AKP Tarno, said that this case was revealed after residents reported a pungent odor from the victim's house which had been tightly closed for several days.

After being examined, at the back of the house a mound was found. When excavated, officers found five buried bodies consisting of three adults and two children, "said Tarno in Indramayu, Antara, Tuesday, September 2.

According to Tarno, the five victims were suspected of being residents of the house. The full identity is still being verified by investigators. For the purposes of the investigation, the police asked for information from five witnesses and took the body to the Bhayangkara Losarang Indramayu Hospital for identification and autopsy.

"It is estimated that the victim had died a few days before being found. The exact results of the cause of death are waiting for the autopsy results," he said.

Evidence secured

From the crime scene (TKP), the police secured a number of evidences in the form of hoes, small buckets, sheets, and blue tarpaulins with bloodstains.

"For the alleged disappearance of the victim's belongings, it is still being investigated by the Indramayu Police Criminal Investigation Unit," said Tarno.

Until now, the Indramayu Police are still investigating the motive for the case and identifying the perpetrators suspected of being involved in the incident.

Residents are restless, suspicious of robbery

The discovery of these five bodies made local residents restless. A resident named Ami (35) admitted that he was shocked when he found out that his neighbor was found dead in a buried condition.

According to Ami, before the incident, two pickup cars were seen stopping in front of the victim's house on Saturday (30/8/2025) in the morning. This raises suspicions that the incident occurred three to four days before the body was found.

"He said it was a robbery. There were five victims, consisting of father, mother, father-in-law, little boy, and an eight-month-old baby," said Ami.

The victim's body was found in a hole near the jackfruit tree in the inside of the house. Police are still waiting for the results of the autopsy and examination of witnesses to ascertain the motive and perpetrator of the murder.
