Defense Minister Says President Continues To Monitor The Development Of The State Situation

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said that President Prabowo Subianto is currently in the country and continues to monitor developments in the national situation, especially those in Jakarta.

"The president is currently in the country and continues to monitor developments in our national area, especially in the capital city, Jakarta," said Sjamsoeddin, at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Sunday.

He said Prabowo emphasized that the National Police and the TNI should remain solid, cooperate, and work together in carrying out the task of maintaining security and comfort for the Indonesian people.

In addition, he said, Prabowo assigned the National Police Chief, Police General Listyo SPrabowo, and the TNI Commander, TNI General Agus Subiyanto, not to hesitate to take measured and firm steps against violations of the law and violations of law enforcement.

Prabowo also emphasized that criminal acts in the form of destruction of public facilities, objects, and personal assets must be prosecuted according to the law.

"If things happen that involve personal safety or the owner of the official's house who experiences looting, the officer must not hesitate to take firm action against the perpetrators," said Sjamsoeddin.

The police and the TNI are asked to take a firm stance on all things that interfere with security, public order, and the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

Furthermore, he said that Prabowo assigned the State Intelligence Agency to monitor intelligence dynamics and immediately report to the President.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, is directed to continue to coordinate with local governments, including in monitoring economic developments needed by the people.

The TNI Commander together with the TNI matra staff chiefs will also maintain national security and regulate the use of natural resources that are not in accordance with the provisions of the law.

The head of the National Police is asked to continue to cooperate with the Attorney General, ST Burhanuddin, in enforcing the law quickly against violations in all national areas.

"This is a message that I need to convey on the instructions of the President so that all Indonesian people know and understand. The President will always be with the people in fighting for the interests of the people together with the support of the TNI, Polri, and all community organizations," said Sjamsoeddin.

In the press statement, he was accompanied by the TNI Commander, TNI General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief, Police General Listyo S Prabowo, Head of the State Intelligence Agency, Herindra, Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, Army Chief of Staff, TNI General Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Muhammad Ali, and Navy Chief of Staff, TNI Marshal MTonny Harjono.

Prabowo held a Red and White Cabinet Session which was attended by a number of ministers and state officials at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Sunday afternoon.
