Gegana Headquarters Burns Again, Allegedly Unknown Persons

JAKARTA - The Gegana Headquarters Building on Jalan Kramat Raya, Senen, Central Jakarta, caught fire again on Sunday, August 31, 2025, afternoon. The fire broke out at around 16.30 WIB.

From VOI's observation at the location, there were no fire engines at the fire site. Meanwhile, the flames emerged from the main building in the front.

The fire incident caused black smoke that soared high in the air in the Jalan Kramat Raya area, Senen.

The fire was allegedly burned by an unknown person (OTK). The reason is that before it caught fire, a number of people were seen looting the remains of goods in the Gegana building.

At around 17.00 WIB, there was no visible attempt by the firefighters at the location of Gegana's burning headquarters. Meanwhile, local residents tried to extinguish the fire.

Traffic flow on two sections of Jalan Kramat Raya, from Matraman to Senen and vice versa there is traffic jams.

Drivers passing also look panicked and many choose to turn around to avoid unwanted events.

Just so you know, the Gegana Headquarters building that caught fire was right next to the Pertamina Kramat Raya Office. Meanwhile, at the location, there were already TNI members who carried out security and traffic decomposition assisted by local residents.

Previously, it was reported that a number of tactical vehicles (Rantis) and buses belonging to the police were parked in front of the former Gegana Headquarters of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Jalan Kramat Raya, Senen District, Central Jakarta, burned down.

Although the vehicle had become a carcass after being burned by the masses, the vehicle's iron-irresistant material did not escape the target of the masses.

From VOI's observation at the location, it was seen that a number of people again took an unknown person who took iron from the carcass of a burning car.

They also freely entered the building with the Gegana sign freely on Sunday, August 31, 2025, afternoon.

At around 16.36 WIB, after the burning of the Gegana building a few days ago, the location of the incident still attracted the attention of residents until this afternoon.

It was observed that residents and motorcyclists passing by were still witnessing the current condition of the police headquarters.

A number of residents continue to search for the remaining goods that can be sold. Others were seen carrying sacks suspected of containing the remaining valuables that could be sold by kiloan.

Several men were seen carrying sacks from the inside of the Gegana Polri building. In fact, other residents were seen carrying iron tied up.
