East Jakarta Police Arrest 7 Suspected Perpetrators Of Looting Houses Of Members Of The Indonesian House Of Representatives Uya Kuya

The East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) arrested a number of looters at the house of DPR RI member Surya Utama or Uya Kuya in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta.

"We have arrested the perpetrator from Uya Kuya's house which was looted," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Dicky Fertoffan to VOI, Sunday, August 31, 2025, in the early hours of the morning.

The arrested perpetrators were then taken to the East Jakarta Metro Police for further investigation by the Satreskrim investigators.

"Seven looters were arrested at the scene," he said.

Until now, the police do not know the role of the 7 arrested perpetrators.

"Later it will develop to other perpetrators. From the results of the examination, it will be developed to other perpetrators," he said.

Furthermore, Kasat explained, some of the perpetrators who were arrested previously also had time to gather and throw stones at officers in the field.

"So we fired tear gas to disperse them," he said.

Previously, the residence of the artist and member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PAN faction, Uya Kuya, was visited by a number of people on Saturday night, August 30, 2025.

There was a sound of the masses shouting in the forest, "Dismantling", there was also the sound of objects breaking.

The crowd that managed to break into the fence, then broke through to the second floor of Uya's house. Meanwhile, the other masses looted a number of items in the house.

The attack on Uya Kuya's house was allegedly the aftermath of the viral video of Uya dancing with other DPR members at the MPR Annual Session on August 15, 2025, plus information on the amount of their salary that sparked the anger of the people.
