Riza Patria: The Late Affan Deserves To Be An Example For The Young Generation

Deputy Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Wamendes PDT) Ahmad Riza Patria assessed that the life story of the late Affan Kurniawan, an online motorcycle taxi driver who died in a demonstration incident in Jakarta, deserves to be an example for the younger generation of Indonesia.

Riza, after accompanying President Prabowo Subianto, visited the funeral home, on Jalan Tayu, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, August 29, citing the example of the deceased as seen from his concern for his family.

"Affan dropped out of school since he was 14 years old. He worked as a portal guard in front (of his house). For 2 years he saved," he said, quoted by Antara.

Despite dropping out of school, said Riza, Affan is known to be diligent in working to achieve the dream of buying a house for his mother, because so far he has only rented in a small house with two rooms.

Riza said that Affan had even been able to buy a plot of land in Lampung and provide motorbikes for his younger sister who also works as an online motorcycle taxi driver.

"Affan is an example of a child who cares about his family, loves his parents and younger siblings," said Riza.

Riza said that the deceased was an example of children who had a concern for families who lived a very concerned life.

"Hopefully all Indonesian children will imitate Affan who loves his parents, his sister and family," he said.

He added that the extended family of the deceased expressed their gratitude for the attention of President Prabowo Subianto and the government, including housing assistance provided to the families of the victims.

Riza said that during a visit to the funeral home of the late Affan Kurniawan in Jakarta, Friday night, President Prabowo gave home to the family, which was Affan's dream for his mother, Herlina.
