Riots In Jakarta, MRT Only Operates Lebak Bulus Station To Blok M BCA

JAKARTA - PT MRT Jakarta has again changed its operational pattern of trains as of 22.45 WIB. Responding to the situation of the demonstration which is still heating up until tonight, the train service operating is only run on the route from Lebak Bulus Station to Blok M BCA.

"The current adjustment of the restrictions is that MRT Jakarta operations temporarily only serve trips on the flyover route, namely Lebak Bulus Station to Blok M BCA Station," said Acting Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta Ahmad Pratomo in his statement, Friday, August 29.

Thus, a number of stations tonight are not operating, namely ASEAN Station, Senayan Mastercard Station, Mandiri Istora Station, Hilir Dam Station, Setiabudi Astra Station, Dukuh Atas BNI Station, and Bank DKI HI Roundabout Station.

Pratomo explained that the adjustment of this operational service was carried out as a form of security and maintaining the safety and comfort of passengers.

"We urge all users and the public not to take actions that can damage public facilities. MRT Jakarta is a public mobility facility that is built for the common good, so it is important for all of us to keep it functioning properly," said Pratomo.

This afternoon, MRT also closed the entrance to Istora Mandiri Station due to a demonstration by groups of students and the community in front of Polda Metro Jaya which led to clashes.

The closure of the entrance near the SCBD area, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, has been in effect since 15:45 WIB. Entrance A of the Downstream Dam Station, which is not far from the Metro Police.

In addition, the operation of the Jakarta MRT train temporarily did not stop at Istora Mandiri Station until the situation was declared conducive.
