President Prabowo Asks Officers Involved To Be Strictly Actioned If Violations Are Found

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto admitted that he was disappointed after learning that officers were acting excessively when securing the DPR demonstration which led to clashes between the masses and the authorities on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

In my YouTube broadcast of the State Secretariat, President Prabowo admitted that he was surprised to hear the news that an ojol driver died as a result of being hit by a Rantis Brimob car on Jalan Pejompongan - Pejompongan, Central Jakarta.

"Once again I am surprised and disappointed with the excessive actions of officers." said President Prabowo, quoted by VOI, Friday, August 29, 2025.

Therefore, President Prabowo requested that this case be investigated thoroughly, followed up professionally and transparently. Officers involved in the action must also be held accountable.

"I have ordered that last night's incident be thoroughly and transparently investigated. As well as the officers involved must be responsible. If their actions are found outside the provisions, strict action will be taken according to the applicable law," said President Prabowo.

Hundreds or maybe even thousands of online motorcycle taxi drivers (Ojol) accompanied the funeral of Affan Kurniawan's body to the Karet Bivak Public Cemetery (TPU), Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Friday, August 29, 2025.
