The Banten Police have detained Bripda MA in a special place (patsus) after an intensive examination related to alleged violations of the police discipline and code of ethics in an incident that caused a vocational school student to serious injuries.
The Head of Propam Banten Police, Kombes Murwoto, said the placement was to ensure that the legal process was professional and objective.
"Handling of members is carried out in a professional manner and indiscriminately. We guarantee that the entire process will take place in a transparent, accountable manner, and in accordance with applicable regulations," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 28.
He explained that the examination by Propam was a form of commitment from the Banten Police to enforce the law fairly while keeping the situation conducive.
"We are sorry for the incident and apologize for the actions of our members. We will take firm action in accordance with applicable regulations," said Murwoto.
In addition to processing the MA Bripda, the Banten Police also provided treatment support for victims who were still being treated intensively at the hospital.
"We ensure that the rights of the victims are fulfilled, including treatment until they recover," he added.
This case began when the Maung Presisi patrol of the Banten Police Dit Samapta took action against reports from the public regarding illegal racing in the Central Government Area of Banten Province (KP3B) on Sunday (24/8) early morning.
