Over 1 Kg Methamphetamine Smuggled into Interior, Central Kalimantan National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) Dismantles a Large Network

PALANGKA RAYA - The Central Kalimantan National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has uncovered a narcotics network in Gunung Mas Regency by arresting three suspected perpetrators identified as AD, FD, and LH. Officers also confiscated more than one kilogram of methamphetamine as evidence.

"This disclosure stemmed from public information regarding rampant drug trafficking in Gunung Mas Regency, specifically in Kurun District," said Acting Head of the Central Kalimantan BNNP, Senior Commissioner Ruslan Abdul Rasyid, in Palangka Raya, Antara News Agency reported on Thursday, August 28.

Based on this information, on Wednesday, August 20, at approximately 7:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), a joint team from the Eradication and Intelligence Division of the Central Kalimantan BNNP went to a house on Jalan MT Haryono, Tampang Tumbang Anjir Village, Gunung Mas Regency. At the location, officers arrested AD, also known as Bubu, along with evidence of Rp 500,000 in cash and a cell phone.

At approximately 8:41 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), the team expanded their investigation and arrested FD, also known as Unga, at Barak Pintu No. 2 on Jalan KS Tubun. Officers seized a 0.6 gram package of methamphetamine, Rp 805,000 in cash, and two cell phones.

Based on FD's statement, the team then searched a motorcycle garage on Jalan Ais Nasution No. 34, Gunung Mas Regency. Officers found substantial evidence at the location: a package of Chinese tea containing approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine, 24 ecstasy pills bearing the triangle logo, a 3.08 gram package of methamphetamine, and FD's digital scales.

Subsequently, on Monday, August 25, the Central Kalimantan National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) team arrested LH on Jalan KS Tubun. From his home, officers confiscated 0.48 grams of methamphetamine, two cell phones, Rp 1.85 million in cash, plastic clips, a methamphetamine spoon, and a small safe.

Ruslan explained that, according to FD alias Unga, the one kilogram of methamphetamine was obtained from a man with the initials YT alias Jago, who delivered the goods in a white Toyota Fortuner on August 11, 2025. The estimated value of the contraband was IDR 1.25 billion.

On August 25–26, 2025, officers searched for YT in Tumbang Miwan Village, Kurun District. However, YT was not found, despite searches of several huts in the gold mining area and his private home.

For their actions, the suspects were charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, which carries a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment.

"This case is clear evidence that narcotics trafficking continues to threaten even remote areas. We will not stop until the entire network is arrested," said Ruslan.
