Israel Holds 726 Bodies Of Palestinians, Including Children

JAKARTA - National Campaign Data for the Recovery of Martir's Bodies shows Israeli occupation authorities are still holding the bodies of 726 Palestinians killed in refrigerators and what is called a "numbered grave".

In a statement issued on Wednesday in the context of National Day for the Recovery of Martir's Body, the campaign explained that among the bodies detained there were 256 martyred bodies buried in a numbered cemetery, and 469 martyred bodies have been detained since the resumption of this policy in 2015, a clear indication of the escalation of this policy in recent years.

The campaign added that the list includes the bodies of 67 children, 85 prisoners and 10 women, quoted from WAFA 27 August.

The occupation authority has also detained the bodies of more than 1,500 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip since the start of the latest conflict in the Palestinian enclave in 2023.

They are being held at Sdei Teiman Camp, which confirms the systematic and long-term nature of this violation.

The group underlined that the detention of bodies was a systematic extension of colonial domination, which punished Palestinians twice: during life and after death, by making them a bargaining chip and seizing the family's opportunity to mourn.
