JAKARTA - The death toll from hunger and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip, Palestine has reached 300 as the death toll continues to grow.

A medical source in the Gaza Strip said Monday that 11 residents, including two children, had died from hunger and malnutrition, which was recorded in hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

Medical sources reported that the figure brings the total number of victims of hunger and malnutrition to 300, including 117 children.

Earlier, Commissioner General of the United Nations Aid and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini, said hunger had become the latest disaster to befall Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement posted on X Lazzarini describing the situation in Gaza as "a come true in all its forms in Gaza," stressing the global slogan "will never again" has been deliberately repeated and "will continue to haunt the world."

He underlined that "condemnation is the most terrible form of dehumanization."

Lazzarini urged the Israeli occupation government to stop promoting and spreading misleading narratives and allow humanitarian organizations to deliver aid without restrictions.

Previously, the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that the level of malnutrition in Gaza had reached an alarming level, with intentional blockades and aid delays having left nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffering from severe malnutrition.

Yesterday, Gaza's health authorities confirmed the death toll from an Israeli attack since October 2023 had risen to 62,686, while injuries reached 157,951, the majority of victims were women and children.
