Israeli Settlers Attack 59 Jordanian Aid Trucks Convoy for Gaza, Breaking Windows and Slashing Tires

JAKARTA - Jordan on Monday, August 25, condemned the attack by Israeli settlers on humanitarian aid trucks heading to the Gaza Strip.

Citing AN, Jordan stated that the illegal Israeli settlers' attack on aid from Jordan for Gazans endangered the safety of truck drivers, hampered aid work, and violated international conventions and agreements.

The Israeli settlers are clearly obstructing humanitarian operations in the territory, which is deliberately besieged by the Israeli military.

A spokesperson for the Jordanian government and Minister of Communications revealed that a group of Israeli settlers attempted to block a convoy of 59 aid trucks heading to Gaza on Sunday night, August 24.

Momani said four of the 59 trucks were attacked. Israeli settlers threw stones, damaging the windows, front panels, and sides of the trucks. The settlers, who knew the trucks were carrying humanitarian aid for Gazans, also slashed the trucks' tires.

Momani emphasized the Israeli government's responsibility for the repeated threats to vehicles carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza.

He said the Israeli government's response to previous incidents was "weak," leading to a repeat of this incident.
