German federal prosecutors have charged a United States (US) citizen with allegedly offering sensitive US military information to Chinese intelligence.
The man identified as Martin D. under German privacy law, allegedly contacted Chinese state agencies in the summer of 2024 while working for US military contractors at US bases in Germany, prosecutors said in a statement.
Martin has been in pretrial custody since his arrest in November 2024.
There has been no statement from the US regarding this legal case.
