Against French Jews, The Music Festival In Paris Still Shows Palestine's Pro-Security Kneecap Group

JAKARTA - Grup rap Irlandia yang kerap menyuarakan dan krisis kemanusiaan di Palestina, Kneecap, tetap akan menjalani konsernya di Paris, meski ditentang kelompok Yahudi Prancis.

Mengutip AFP, Kneecap dijadwalkan akan menjalani konser di festival tahunan 'Rock en Seine' di pinggiran kota Paris, Saint-Cloud, pada hari ini, Minggu 24 Agustus.

Pemerintah daerah setempat juga ikut menentang konser Kneecap dengan mencabut subsidi untuk festival tempat trio musisi rap itu manggung.

Pencabutan subsidi karena panitia festival tetap mempertahankan Kneecap menggelar konsernya yang dijadwalkan naik panggung pukul 16.30 waktu setempat.

Kneecap memang dikenal tegas mendukung Palestina dan mengkritik keras Israel dalam hampir tiap konsernya. Mereka menjadikan panggung musik sebagai corong penyampaian pesan kemanusiaan.

Salah satu personelnya, Liam O’Hanna atau Mo Chara (27), didakwa Undang-Undang Terorisme Inggris belum lama ini dalam sebuah sidang di Pengadilan Westminster Magistrates London.

Dakwaan itu berdasarkan tudingan Mo Chara mengibarkan bendera Hizbullah dalam konser Kneecap di London. Kneecap mengatakan itu karena dilempar oleh penonton dan dakwaan yang ditujukan kepada Mo Chara sebagai upaya pembungkaman.

JAKARTA - Ireland's rap group, which often voiced and the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, Kneecap, will still have its concert in Paris, despite opposition to the French Jewish group.

Citing AFP, Kneecap is scheduled to have a concert at the annual 'Rock en SEine' festival on the outskirts of Paris, Saint-Cloud, today, Sunday, August 24.

The local government also opposed the Kneecap concert by revoking the subsidy for the festival where the trio of rap musicians performed.

The revocation of subsidies because the festival committee still maintains Kneecap holding a concert which is scheduled to take the stage at 16.30 local time.

Kneecap is known to firmly support Palestine and strongly criticize Israel in almost every concert. They made the music stage a mouthpiece for delivering humanitarian messages.

One of its personnel, Liam O'Hanna or Mo Chara (27), was charged with the British Terrorism Act recently in a hearing at London's Westminstermen's Court.

The indictment was based on Mo Chara's accusation of raising the Hezbollah flag at the Kneecap concert in London. Kneecap said it was because it was thrown by the audience and the charges aimed at Mo Chara as an attempt to silence.
