JAKARTA - Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding invites Japanese businessmen to strengthen strategic cooperation in the field of employment. One of the forms is through investment in Indonesian training and labor certification that is tailored to the needs of the Japanese industry.

This was conveyed by Karding in a meeting with Keisai Doyoukai or the Japan Association of Corporate Exclusives, a partner of the Indonesia Business Council in Japan, on Friday, August 22, 2025.

"We hope that Japanese entrepreneurs, if they want to invest in Indonesia in the form of training and certification, we are very open. We are even ready to prepare land for the construction of the training center," said Karding in his statement, Friday, August 22.

Karding explained that currently KemenP2MI is building an integrated training ecosystem to prepare skilled global competitive workers.

According to him, Japan's involvement in the process of mapping the work sector and drafting the curriculum will be an important step to align training with Sakura State industry standards.

"We want the entire training process to use the curriculum from Japan, so that the output really fits the needs of the industry in Japan," said Karding.

During the meeting, Karding also encouraged the realization of cooperation in the preparation of training standards by the Japan Association of Corporate Executives. Harapanya, Japan can open a more intensive communication line between the Indonesian government and Japanese companies experiencing labor shortages.

"We also ask for support so that member companies know that Indonesia is ready to provide skilled workers for various sectors in need," he said.

As a form of strengthening bilateral relations, Karding also proposed that Indonesia and Japan jointly host the international employment coalition. According to him, such forums are important to show the world that the two countries are committed to building a strong and inclusive employment future.

KemenP2MI targets that such cooperation can expand Indonesia's access to formal sectors in Japan that continue to develop, such as the care of the elderly, manufacturing, hospitality, and modern agriculture.

"There may also be one idea for us to co-host,uffle to show the world that Japan and Indonesia are working together to design a future for employment," Karding said.
