After Wamenaker Noel Got OTT KPK, Minister Of Manpower: K3 Services Keep Running

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli emphasized that the Work Safety and Health (K3) service will continue after the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer alias Noel was caught in a sting operation (OTT) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"K3 services are still running," Yassierli said at a press conference, in Jakarta, Thursday, which was confiscated by Antara.

The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has done various things to build a better system, ranging from human resources, services to integrity pacts.

"I always remind you, we improve the service process, especially since I have a very concerted K3. The number of work accidents is still concerning. We need acceleration in K3 services and so on. So that's why we are concerned and we really regret it," said Yassierli.

K3 certification does involve the Work Safety and Health Service Company (PJK3) as a partner, and it is impossible for the government itself to carry out certification.

"So it involves PJK3, that's where we have to make sure that they have a commitment. We have done that. Even yesterday I said, PJK3, which has not re-committed the integrity pact, we will hold the permit first," he said.

Especially for K3 certification, the Minister of Manpower has implemented an Integrity Pact with nearly a thousand K3 Service Companies (PJK3) in Indonesia, to make a commitment so that there is no practice of bribery, extortion, and/or gratification. The Ministry of Manpower asks the public to actively report if there is still such practice.

"But still, this is a process from an old system. So indeed improvements need efforts which then have to be even more intense. And this is what will continue to be our homework in the future," said Yassierli.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as of Thursday, August 21 afternoon, has arrested 14 people related to OTT Wamenaker Immanuel Ebenezer.

"Until now, 14 people have been arrested," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo, at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday.

However, Budi has not been able to tell who the parties have been arrested are.

"The parties who are secured, the evidence, and also the construction of the case later we will update (tell you, ed.) yes," he said.
