Reported About Slander In Jokowi's Fake Certificate Case, Roy Suryo Says 'Konyol' And Is Not Worth Processing

JAKARTA - Telematics expert Roy Suryo assessed that the report of alleged slander related to allegations of President Joko Widodo's fake diploma was "concerous" and was filled with mistakes.

This was conveyed by Roy when undergoing examination as a witness by investigators at Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday, August 20.

"So it's a wrong report, a ridiculous report. Lots of mistakes," Roy Suryo told reporters.

However, Roy did not explain in detail what he meant to make a mistake. He only mentioned the timing of the alleged criminal act in the report.

Therefore, he admitted that he did not bring additional documents, data, or evidence in this examination.

"So today I didn't bring anything because this should be nothing," said the former Minister of Youth and Sports.

Roy Suryo also confirmed his belief that he was not guilty of alleged slander as stated in the report.

"Well yes, (I'm sure I'm not guilty)," he said.

Apart from Roy Suryo, two other names are scheduled to be examined as witnesses in this case, namely Kurnia Tri Rayani and Rizal Fadillah.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya stated that the alleged defamation case through allegations of fake diplomas against the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, had gone up to the investigation stage. This is based on the title of the case carried out by the Sub-Directorate of State Security (Kamneg) on Thursday, July 10.

This case stems from an official report submitted directly by President Jokowi to the Polda Metro Jaya, responding to accusations that he used a fake diploma. The report is considered a form of defamation.

Investigators used a number of articles in the Criminal Code (KUHP), including Articles 310 and 311 concerning defamation. In addition, Article 27A, Article 32, and Article 35 of the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE) were also implemented.
