Komjak Encourages The Execution Of Silfester Mutitina As Soon As Possible When Political Influence Appears

The Prosecutor's Commission (Kejaksaan) continues to encourage the South Jakarta District Attorney to immediately carry out the execution process against Silfester Mutitina.

This was conveyed in relation to the emergence of issues regarding the failure to carry out executions because they were influenced by political interests. Silfester is known as a loyalist of former President Joko Widodo and one of the success teams of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair in the 2024 presidential election.

"We are still concerned about pushing for the execution of the convict Silfester," said Commissioner of Komjak, Nurukhman to VOI, Tuesday, August 19.

However, Nurukhman did not clearly convey the real cause of Silfester's never being executed.

On the previous occasion, it was only stated that all the information, including the obstacles faced, had been conveyed by the executor prosecutor to Komjak.

"The South Jakarta Prosecutor has conveyed it, however, not everything can be conveyed to the public," said Nurukhman.

Silfester Matutina is known to have been sentenced to 1 year and 6 months for general criminal cases, namely slander against the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, in 2019.

However, until now, the authorities, namely the South Jakarta District Attorney, have not made an exception even though the decision has permanent legal force since 6 years ago.

Most recently, Silfester Matutina officially submitted a PK application on August 5, 2025 at the South Jakarta District Court. The inaugural trial will be held on August 20, 2025.
