RI Anniversary, 10 Residents Of Situbondo Detention Center Immediately Breathe Free Air

SITUBONDO - In the context of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, as many as 10 prisoners (WBP) of the Situbondo Class IIB State Detention Center, East Java, were immediately released after receiving remission.

Head of Class IIB Rutan Situbondo Suwono explained that 10 inmates who received a reduced sentence and were immediately released on the momentum of the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia were general criminal cases (stealth, embezzlement, fraud, detention).

"Of the 10 inmates, they were immediately released after receiving the remission, each getting remission for two months to three months," he said in Situbondo, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, August 16.

Suwono said that on Independence Day this year, it was recorded that out of 325 inmates, 218 people met the requirements to get remission or reduce their sentence.

To this day, he continued, at the Situbondo Detention Center there are 325 inmates consisting of 276 inmates and 49 people still in detention.

"So those who received remission 218 people, while did not meet the requirements received remission as many as 58 people," said Suwono.

He added that officially the decision letter for reducing the criminal period to the inmates will be submitted on Sunday (17/8) tomorrow.

According to information compiled by ANTARA, there were 49 people who received general remissions for one month, 63 people for two months, 73 people for three months, 18 people for four months, 7 people for five months, and 1 person for six months remission, so that the total number of prisoners who received general remission I or still served the remaining 211 people.
