JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Port Police conducted an inspection of rice stocks at PD Pasar Muara Angke, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta.

These checks are to ensure the availability and stability of basic commodities, especially rice.

Kasat Reskrim Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKP IGNP Krisnha Narayana said this activity was carried out as a follow-up to the instructions of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the National Police Chief in maintaining national food security and avoiding scarcity and price speculation in the market.

The two rice warehouses that were checked were Dewi Sri Shop and Yonnasir Abadi Jaya Shop.

"The results of the examination show that the rice stock owned by business actors is still within reasonable limits," he said, Friday, August 15, 2025.

Until now, he continued, there have been no indications of hoarding or other violations in the Tanjung Priok Port area.

The police appeal to traders to always comply with applicable regulations, including the prohibition of hoarding and mixing rice which can cause scarcity and price instability in the community.

"If it is found that there are allegations of hoarding in the future, business actors will be given two days to follow up (until the deadline of August 17, 2025). If there is no improvement, strict action will be taken through the legal process," he said.

This activity will continue to be carried out in a sustainable manner by the Tanjung Priok Port Police.
