Puan Reveals Reasons This Year Not Wearing Traditional Clothes

JAKARTA - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, revealed the reason she did not wear traditional clothes at this Annual Session. According to him, traditional clothes will be used during the celebration of the Indonesian 80th Anniversary at the State Palace on August 17.

"Because this is an annual trial, later the plan is that if I look at the invitation on Sunday at the celebration on August 17, it is hoped that all those present other than wearing national clothes will wear traditional clothes," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

Puan emphasized that there are no special rules regarding the wearing of traditional clothes at the annual trial. Therefore, this time he only wore complete civilian clothing (PSL).

"Oh nothing, it's national clothes or PSL," he said.

In addition, Puan also explained her reasons for singing John Lennon's Imagine song during a speech at the Joint Session. He said the song meant gender equality.

"Yes, how can women and men work together in building the nation and state, and be given the opportunity, justice, not as affirmations, but as one of the things that must be carried out in building the nation and state," said Puan.
