The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has again confiscated a vehicle suspected of belonging to a suspect in the alleged corruption case of crude oil Muhammad Riza Chalid (MRC).

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) AGO Anang Supriatna said the confiscation was allegedly related to a money laundering case (TPPU).

"The confiscation is suspected to be related to the TPPU case crime case from the origin of the criminal act of corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery products of PT Pertamina Subholding and Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) in 2018-2023," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 14.

Anang explained that the vehicles seized were four cars, namely one BMW car, one Toyota Rush, one Mitsubishi Pajero Sport unit, and one Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2.4 Dakar unit.

The four cars were confiscated from several places in Bekasi, West Java, one of which was in the residential area.

"So, (it was confiscated) in several locations on behalf of affiliated parties," he said.

The affiliated parties, he said, are individuals who have cooperation with Riza Chalid.

He said the confiscation was an attempt to restore state finances.

"The Jampidsus investigator is not only pursuing the person concerned. While waiting for confirmation that the person concerned can be presented, we are also pursuing assets to recover state losses," he said.

Previously, investigators confiscated five cars that allegedly belonged to Riza Chalid, namely Toyota Alphard, Mini Cooper, and three Mercedes Benz sedans.

In addition, investigators also confiscated a sum of money, both in the form of dollars and in the form of rupiah and other foreign currencies.
