JAKARTA - Russia's Ministry of Defense on Thursday said the country repatriated 84 soldiers arrested from Ukrainian territory, and handed over the same number of Ukrainian troops in exchange, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Thursday.
"On August 14, 84 Russian soldiers were repatriated from the Kyiv regime-controlled territory," the ministry said in a statement.
"In return, 84 Ukrainian prisoners of war were handed over," he continued.
"Russian troops who have been repatriated are currently in Belarus, where they are provided with the necessary psychological and medical assistance," the ministry added.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Russian troops who are repatriated will later be taken to Russia for additional treatment and rehabilitation at the Russian Ministry of Defense's medical facilities.
