BOGOR - Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab), West Java, ensures that investment opportunities in Puncak tourist areas remain open as long as investors comply with environmental management procedures and rules.
Bogor Regency Regional Secretary Ajat Rochmat Jatnika said the Bogor Regency Government did not impose a moratorium on environmental approval as long as this provision was carried out consistently.
"As long as environmental procedures and rules are used to invest in Bogor Regency, especially in Puncak, there is no reason for the district government to moratorium on environmental approval," said Ajat in Cibinong, West Java, Antara, Wednesday, August 13.
He emphasized that environmental management must be carried out with the principle of sustainability in order to provide added value for the economy and social community while at the same time reducing the potential for natural damage.
According to him, many investors have obtained environmental approval but have not made it a guideline for development and operations. This condition risks triggering the revocation of permits by higher authorities.
"After having environmental approval, yes, implement it in the field during construction and operations," he said.
To prevent violations, the Bogor Regency Environment Agency (DLH) routinely monitors and provides reminders for all activities according to the environmental approval documents that have been approved.
Ajat also appealed to business actors in the Puncak area not to view environmental permits only as an administrative requirement, but as the main guideline to preserving nature in the midst of investment activities.
Previously, the Minister of Environment/Head of the Environmental Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurrofiq, revoked a number of environmental approvals in the Puncak area which were deemed to have violated the provisions for the use of space and environmental protection.
