KPK Summons Director Of PT IIM Thomas Harmanto Today Regarding Taspen Fictitious Investment

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned Thomas Harmanto S. as Director of PT Insight Investments Management (IIM) today, August 11. He was investigated for alleged corruption in PT Taspen (Persero) fictitious investments which later ensnared his company as a corporate suspect.

"The investigation was carried out at the KPK's Red and White building," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters, Monday, August 11.

Budi has not detailed the material to be asked in the examination. He only mentioned Thomas being examined as a witness.

"KPK has scheduled an examination of witnesses suspected of corruption related to investment activities of PT Taspen (Persero)," he said.

Meanwhile, Thomas has been repeatedly summoned by investigators from the anti-corruption commission. Among them are on Wednesday, July 16 and Friday, April 25.

He said that the KPK had been questioned about the flow of money from PT Taspen's investment.

The KPK developed allegations of corruption in PT Taspen's fictitious investment and the result was that PT Insight Investment Management was named a corporate suspect through a new investigation.

It has not been detailed about the role of PT IIM. However, this company together with Taspen are suspected of causing the state to lose up to Rp1 trillion due to fictitious investment.

This case began after the anti-corruption commission appointed the former Director of PT Taspen (Persero), Antonius N.S. Kosasih and former President Director of PT Insight Investment Management, Ekiawan Heri Primayanto regarding the alleged corruption of fictitious investments at the state-owned company.

At that time, PT Taspen (Persero) placed an investment of IDR 1 trillion in the RD I-Next G2 mutual fund managed by PT Insight Investment Management. The private company then spread it to a number of investments but not according to the rules.

In detail, Rp78 billion is managed by PT Insight Investment Management. Then, as much as Rp2.2 billion is managed by PT VSI; Rp102 million is managed by PT PS; Rp44 million goes to PT SM; and other parties affiliated with Kosasih and Ekiawan.
