JAKARTA - London police, or Scotland Yard, continue to arrest hundreds of demonstrators protesting the continued military offensive in Gaza. The peaceful demonstration took place in a London square.

One of those arrested was a blind man in a wheelchair who was participating in the pro-Palestine demonstration on August 9th.

His wheelchair was pushed by police from the crowd of peaceful demonstrators. Meanwhile, other demonstrators shouted at the officers who were securing the blind man: "You should be ashamed!"

Video documentation of the arrest of the blind protester was captured by Defend our Juries, a British civil society collective that organizes anti-occupation protests in Palestine.

"London Metropolitan Police arrested a blind man with a disability during a demonstration in Parliament Square, where hundreds of people held placards reading 'I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action,'" Defend our Juries wrote on its X account.

The demonstration in London Square, attended by hundreds of British citizens, also expressed support for the Palestine Action organization, which frequently protests against Britain's involvement in war crimes by assisting in sending military supplies to the Israeli army's attacks on Gaza.

Previously, Palestine Action's activities were banned by the British government after its activists broke into the British Air Force base at Braiz Norten on Friday, June 20. The pro-Palestinian activists damaged two Voyager aircraft by spraying red paint on the engines of the military equipment.

The ban on Palestine Action's activities in the UK is stipulated in the UK's Terrorism Act, which was issued in early July 2025.
