Prabowo: Non-Aligned RI, No Other Choice Must Have Strong Defense

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia must have a very strong defense system to maintain sovereignty in the midst of a global geopolitical situation full of uncertainty.

This was conveyed when he acted as inspector of ceremonies at the Military Operational and Honorary Forces Ceremony at Suparlan Field, Special Forces Education and Training Center (Pusdiklatpassus) of the Army Special Forces, Batujajar, West Bandung Regency, West Java, Sunday 10 August.

"Indonesia does not want to side with any block. But because of that, there is no other choice, Indonesia must have a very strong defense," he said, quoted from the YouTube channel Puspen TNI.

In his mandate, the Head of State reminded that even though Indonesia does not like war, reality shows that armed conflict is taking place in various parts of the world.

He gave an example of a major war in Europe and the tragedy of humanity in the Middle East, where weak nations often become victims, including massacres of civilians such as parents, women, and children.

The President emphasized that Indonesia's active and non-block foreign political stance does not mean that this nation can be careless.

In fact, according to him, this position requires Indonesia to have a strong defense so that it does not become a party that is treated arbitrarily by the world's great powers.
