The LaHAT - The Lahat District Attorney's Office (Kejari), South Sumatra, examined as many as 30 witnesses in the alleged corruption case in the management of grant funds from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Lahat Regency for the 2023 fiscal year.

Head of the Lahat Kejari, Toto Roedianto, said investigators had also conducted searches at two locations suspected of being directly related to the case.

"We have examined as many as 30 witnesses and we searched two office locations, namely the Lahat Regency KONI office and the Lahat Regency Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) office," Toto said when confirmed in Lahat, Antara, Wednesday, August 6.

In addition to the examination and search, investigators also managed to secure a deposit of IDR 250 million which is suspected to be related to state financial losses in this case.

"The money worth Rp. 250 million was immediately deposited into the account of the Attorney General's Office at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KCP Lahat and is now under the supervision of the investigative team," he explained.

Toto said that the examination of witnesses was carried out in stages to collect evidence and make the case clear. This step also aims to identify who is the most responsible party in managing the grant funds.

"This investigation is a form of commitment from the Lahat Kejari in efforts to eradicate corruption, while at the same time recovering state financial losses," said Toto.

Penyidik akan terus memanggil dan meminta keterangan dari pihak-pihak yang diduga terkait dalam kegiatan penggunaan dana hibah KONI Lahat tahun anggaran 2023.

Investigators will continue to summon and ask for information from parties suspected of being involved in the activities of using KONI Lahat grant funds for the 2023 fiscal year.
