President Prabowo Holds Plenary Cabinet Session To Discuss Independence Month

JAKARTA - A number of ministers and state officials from the Red and White Cabinet began arriving at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Wednesday afternoon, to attend the Plenary Cabinet Session.

The cabinet meeting is scheduled to discuss a number of strategic agendas related to the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia which falls on August 17.

"This is a preparation meeting on August 17. The President will give directions regarding preparations for August 17. He will deliver a state speech at the DPR as a series of 17's," said Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni when asked about the agenda of the Plenary Cabinet Session quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 6.

The situation at the pillar gate of the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, at around 13.00 WIB, several ministers who had arrived, including Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Risan Roeslani, Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) Ahmad Haikal Hasan.

Followed by the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf.

Officials dressed in suits and white shirts went straight to the courtroom after getting off their official vehicles.

The meeting was chaired directly by President Prabowo Subianto and is scheduled to highlight various preparations, ranging from the technical implementation of state ceremonies, the launch of the flagship program of independence, to the sharpening of national messages that will be conveyed to the public.

In addition, cabinet meetings are also planned to discuss the direction of government public communication policies during the month of independence, including the big themes that will be raised to strengthen the spirit of nationalism and unity.

Until this news was published, a cabinet meeting was being prepared to be held starting at 14.00 WIB behind closed doors at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.

Since January 2025, President Prabowo Subianto has led three Plenary Cabinet Sessions, each on January 21 in order to evaluate 100 days of government attended by all levels of the Red and White Cabinet.

Next, on March 21, which was held suddenly, discussed the government's preparations ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2025 and attended by all ministers, heads of institutions, and other strategic policy makers.

Finally, on May 5 to evaluate the performance of the first six months of the Red and White Cabinet since its inauguration, it will be held at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.
