Bicara Udara Invites Parents To Become Clean Air Fighters Through The 2025 Voices Academy Blue

JAKARTA - In the midst of the high number of respiratory diseases due to air pollution, the movement of civil society is becoming increasingly important in encouraging policies that favor public health.

Realizing this, Bicara Udara again presents the annual Biru Voices Academy 2025 program, as a strategic effort to equip clean air activists from the elderly, content creators, and urban professionals in voicing impacts and encouraging solutions to the air pollution crisis.

Held on August 2, 2025, in Jakarta, Biru Voices Academy is part of the Biru Voices Ambassadors 2025 program, which this year is entering its fourth year of implementation. This program focuses not only on public education, but also on facilitating direct bridges between the public and policy-making spaces, such as Eddy Soeparno, Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI and Chico Hakim, Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Public Communication.

We believe that parents' voices have great power in encouraging policies that are oriented towards a healthy and sustainable future. They are not only talking about data, but from life experiences. By making the voice of parents as the center of narrative, Bicara Udara want to place the issue of air pollution as a public priority agenda, not only in online conversations, but also in policy making. So we try to facilitate public participation and connect participants with policymakers through Biru Voices," said Ratna Kartadjoemena, Co-Founder Talk in a written statement, quoted Monday, August 4.

In addition, Biru Voices Academy presents expert resource persons such as, Wisnu Nugroho VP Sustainability Kompas Gramedia, dr. Frida Soesanti, Sp.A(K), PhD as Children's Endocrinology Specialist & FKUI Lecturer, dr. Darmawan Budi Setyanto, Sp.A(K) as Pediatrician for Respiratory, to Cara Rumantir as CEO and Co-Founder of TS Media.

Through the 2025 Biru Voices Ambassadors program, Ratna explained that the participants will carry out a series of public educational activities such as social media, event activities, community mobilization, to appear as Spokesperson for Air speech in various local and national forums. With a collaborative and educational approach, they are expected to be able to build broad awareness about the importance of clean air as a basic right that must be fought for together.

A total of 17 selected participants this year came from various sector backgrounds, ranging from health, education, technology, arts, media, to the environment. However, one thing that unites them is their identity as clean air activists who have deep concern for the health of children and the future of the environment where their children grow.

I feel very lucky to be able to learn directly from the speakers and experts during Biru Voices Academy. As a father of two children, I see firsthand the bad effects of air pollution on the health of my child who is often affected by ARI. Eventhough they already use air purifiers, it's still not enough. Through Biru Voices, I learned that changes must be fought for so that our children do not grow up in dangerous air conditions," said Samy Shihab, a father of two, who was elected as one of the 2025 Biru Voices Ambassadors.

Biru Voices Academy 2025 not only educates participants about the issue of air pollution and its impact on health, but also provides them with strategic communication skills, the use of social media for education, as well as community-based advocacy approaches. Ambassadors are trained to use private narratives and families as an effective campaign tool, touching on the emotional side as well as educating the wider public.
