At the Bangkalan Detention Center, the convict who received an amnesty with the initials MS (41), a resident of Socah District, was convicted of theft with a weighted sentence of 3 years and 8 months in prison.
MS has served a sentence of 1 year and 10 months and will be free on October 22, 2027.
"However, because he received amnesty, he is now free," said Head of the Bangkalan Class IIB Detention Center Budi Setyo Prabowo.
He explained that the granting of amnesty to MS was because he had a history of mental disorders.
Meanwhile, at the Class IIB Sumenep Detention Center, only three inmates from seven amnesty recipients were immediately released, while the other four were released.
