Hasto Reportedly Attending Congress After Receiving Amnesty, PDIP Politician: Cadre's Spiritual Nuances Await

JAKARTA – Hasto Kristiyanto is reportedly attending the 6th Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Congress, held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center today, after receiving amnesty from President Prabowo Subianto. PDIP politician Deddy Yevri H. Sitorus stated that Hasto's attendance is highly likely.

"He will most likely be there. But whether he's certain or not, please contact Mas Hasto," Deddy said in a statement received by reporters on Saturday, August 2.

According to him, many PDIP cadres already in Bali hold emotional hopes that Hasto will attend. Moreover, his presence is seen as a moral symbol of the spirit of truth.

"But the prevailing sentiment certainly also hopes that outgoing Secretary General Mas Hasto Kristiyanto can attend here to demonstrate that, ultimately, evil will defeat truth. Satyam Eva Jayate," he said.

Regarding whether there was any discussion at the congress regarding Hasto's possible return to the PDIP Central Executive Board (DPP) for the next term, Deddy emphasized that it was not on the official agenda.

"We just discussed the Organizational Commission, the Political Commission, and the Program Commission. So we didn't discuss other people's business," he emphasized.

Deddy also stated that, based on the latest communication, Hasto is trying to come to Bali.

"So, let's just wait and see. The latest information I heard is that I've also communicated with Mas Hasto, and he's also trying to come to Bali and has already communicated with the General Chair. But of course, please contact Mas Hasto Kristiyanto directly," Deddy concluded.
