Pramono Will Modernize Pluit Reservoir Pumps So That The Palace Is Not Flooded, DPRD Reminds Budget Transparency

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Wibi Andrino, supports the plan of DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to revitalize the Pluit Reservoir Pump House, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, to become more modern.

Where, the Pluit Reservoir Pump House is operated to control the flow of water in rivers/times in VVIP areas such as the State Palace.

"Referring to advanced mud pump technology is part of adaptation to climate challenges and urbanization," Wibi told reporters, Thursday, July 31.

On the one hand, Wibi emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government must carry out planning until the implementation of transparent revitalization of the Pluit Reservoir Pump House, especially regarding the use of the budget.

"The DPRD emphasizes that this plan is prepared with data-based planning, budget transparency, human resource training, and a clear maintenance system," explained Wibi.

Then, don't forget that revitalization also needs to be done by not neglecting aspects of reforestation of the city.

"River revitalization and reforestation of the city must continue to go hand in hand so that flood management does not only depend on equipment, but also strengthens the overall carrying capacity of the Jakarta environment," he added.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung assessed that it was time for the Pluit Reservoir Pump House to be revitalized by operating more modern tools.

This was revealed by Pramono when he visited the Pluit Reservoir Pump House to see the mechanisms for anticipation and prevention of flooding carried out.

"Indeed, there must be modernization. This still depends on heavy excavators to take the mud," said Pramono, Tuesday, July 28.

This pump house has 10 pump units with a capacity of 15 cubic meters per second and a catch area of the Pluit Reservoir covering an area of 2,779 hectares.

"This is the most priority reservoir, the main and including three pumps here serving VVIP areas including the Palace and so on," Pramono explained.

The State Palace area was flooded in 2015 and 2020. It is known, when the Palace was inundated, it turned out that the operation of the Pluit Reservoir Pump House was problematic.

At the time of the incident, Pramono was still serving as Cabinet Secretary. Therefore, Pramono considers regular monitoring of the Pluit Reservoir Pump House to be important.
