DENPASAR - Chairman of the DPR and Chairman of the PDI Perjuagan DPP Puan Maharani opened their voices about the proposed regional head elections (Pilkada) to be held indirectly or elected through the DPRD.

"We will first examine together with all members of the council," said Puan after closing the Technical Guidance (Bimtek) of PDIP cadres at the Bali Beach Convention Center at The Meru Sanur, Denpasar, Wednesday, July 30.

Puan emphasized the PDIP DPP. also studying the proposed regional elections through the DPRD.

"Yes, it's still being studied," he said.

Previously, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) encouraged the evaluation of the direct regional election system.

Cak Imin emphasized that he wanted regional head elections to be appointed by the central government or elected by the DPRD. He said the proposal had also been submitted directly to President Prabowo Subianto.

"We have also conveyed to the President directly, in time, regional head elections, the total benefits and benefits were evaluated," said Cak Imin.

"If the center is not appointed, the maximum election is chosen by the DPRD throughout the country," added the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment.
