Social Minister Reports Prabowo About People's Schools And Social Assistance Not Right On Target

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf visited the Jakarta Presidential Palace, to report to President Prabowo Subianto regarding the progress of the ongoing People's School, to social assistance (bansos) that were not on target.

"We will report about the People's School which we started learning on July 14 at 63 points," said the Minister of Social Affairs as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 29.

Saifullah or familiarly called Gus Ipul explained that in early August, the Ministry of Social Affairs would launch a People's School at 37 points that could accommodate more than 9,700 students with 1,500 teachers and more than 2,000 educators.

Then, the Ministry of Social Affairs plans to add People's Schools at 50 points starting next September.

After running for two weeks, both students and teachers at the People's School have undergone the School Environment Recognition Period (MPLS).

"Everything is just starting to get to know each other, but the curriculum with the learning equipment has been prepared by the Task Force (People's School)," said Gus Ipul.

In addition to reporting on the People's School, the Minister of Social Affairs also reported about improving the distribution of social assistance (bansos) so that the recipients were right on target.

Through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 4 of 2025 concerning Single Data which is a reference for all ministries, institutions, and local governments, the Ministry of Social Affairs is asked to help update data.

"If we can update this continuously and also involve private participation, I am sure that God willing, our data will be more valid in the future. With that data, we will also cross-check it in the field," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
