A total of 238 heirlooms from 26 museums throughout Indonesia were exhibited at the National Pusaka Nusantara Exhibition held by the Indonesian Ministry of Culture from July 29 to October 31, 2025 at the Sri Baduga Museum, Bandung City.

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon said this exhibition is a form of collaboration across provincial museums that presents a variety of Nusantara cultural wealth, ranging from keris, quasi, spears, rencong, to other historical artifacts.

"This exhibition at the Sri Baduga Museum is very important as an education about the wealth of the archipelago heritages," said Fadli in Bandung, Antara, Tuesday, July 29.

As the host, West Java Province features 64 types of collections, including loris, kudi, and swords. In total there are 21 provincial museums, four district/city museums, and one university museum participating.

Fadli added that future exhibitions need to be expanded in order to include other cultural objects such as local food, traditional games, to people's sports such as the runway from Riau.

Public education through museums must be increased, especially to the younger generation. The museum is rich in information, literacy, and artifacts. Especially if the showy system is attractive, I am sure the visits will increase," he said.

Furthermore, Fadli emphasized the importance of verification and curation of museum collections to ensure the authenticity and historical narrative of each heirloom.

"Don't let the records exist, but the goods don't exist or even disappear and burn. We have to make sure the authenticity, historical context, and meaning of each collection," he said.

He also hopes that heirlooms that are displayed can be developed into national intellectual property in the form of souvenirs, replicas, or creative product inspiration such as films, digital games, and clothing.

"In the future, we must develop these artifacts so that they not only become dead objects, but become living artifacts that are dynamic and can support culture," said Fadli.
