JAKARTA - Indonesia fully supports the implementation conference on the two-state solution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict fronted by Saudi Arabia and France.

The conference, called the official "High Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution", was held at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, United States on July 28-30.

"Indonesia is one of the initiators of this conference. We are the head of one of the working groups," said a spokesman for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rolliansyah "Roy" Soemirat in a statement to reporters in Jakarta, Monday, July 28.

"Indonesia's involvement in this conference has been around for the first time. We provide full support, open ourselves up to help until the end of the process," Roy explained, adding that the Indonesian delegation would be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Arramanatha Nasir.

The conference plans to discuss postwar plans, establish roadmaps for the Palestinian State, as well as ensure Israel's safety.

Originally, this conference would be held last June. However, pressure from the United States and the 12 Iran-Israel war forced the conference to be postponed this month, quoted by Reuters.

Roy in a press statement last month said that Indonesia and Italy chaired one of the working groups from the conference, which discussed specifically the security aspects related to the two countries or regionals within the framework of implementing two countries' solutions.
